Welcome to the University of Surrey Electronics and Amateur Radio Society (EARS). All members of the University are welcome to attend whether or not they hold an amateur radio licence. The society is for both Electronics and Radio Enthusiasts. The society is often a good source of advice on construction projects with an extensive library and through the expertise of the membership. Various items of “re-cycled” equipment and components are available for projects and EARS are always happy to receive surplus items to add to the junkbox.
We have finished running our Foundation Licence Course now with great success - 16 people passed the exam on Sunday 4th March and are waiting to receive their new licences. Hope to hear you on the air and see you in the shack in the coming weeks with your M3 callsigns. Congratulations to everybody on the course.
The society holds informal weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 1pm. These are held in 01AC03 and are usually used to discuss projects, “play radio” and have a chat. Feel free to come along, whether you’ve been before or not.
