The IFestival is our chance to celebrate the vast array of cultures on our campus, here at Surrey. With film nights, performances and workshops, there's plenty for you to see and do.
IFestival - What is it?
IFestival is a 2 week festival 'Celebrating Culture on Campus'. The Festival is led by the University of Surrey Students' Union, with many different events and activities that take place over the two weeks.
Here are a few of the things we have planned to give you an idea of what the 2 weeks will entail:
IExhibition
One of the 2 big events that will be happening, where lots of our international societies have stalls and decorate them with flags and other things from their culture, and they provide food for people to taste. This year we are also hoping to have some other stalls, such as Arabic/Chinese Calligraphy, Henna Art, Fortune Telling etc.
IGala
This is like a variety performance where students can showcase their culture through song, dance, poem, music or any other performance. This show sells out pretty much every year.
Other Society events
Throughout the week we have many societies who are organising internationally themed club nights, Bollywood Film Nights, Model UN debates, Mini Olympics, IFlag (where flags are distributed across campus and clues are given out to find these flags), Coach trips to landmarks in England such as Stonehenge, Cardiff and to Cambridge and other workshops such as Salsa Dance Workshops.
